Indian authorities have granted Pakistani athletes for icc 2023 world cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formally awarded Indian visas to Pakistani players in order for them to compete in the icc 2023 world cup, which is a huge decision that has sent shockwaves through the cricketing community. After months of anticipation and discussion, a landmark decision has been made that will forever change the way the two countries have ever approached cricket diplomacy.

Less than 48 hours prior to Pakistan’s scheduled departure for India, the visa was cleared.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) stated on Monday that Pakistani cricket team members had been granted Indian visas for the ODI World Cup, hours after the PCB had expressed grave concerns to the international organization regarding the national team’s delayed journey to Hyderabad.

According to a representative for the icc 2023 world cup, Pakistan has received visas.

The granting of the visa, however, continued to cause turmoil in the Pakistani camp.

“The Indian High Commission has not yet called for visa clearance. According to PCB spokeswoman Umar Farooq, a member of our staff is stationed there.

The PCB wrote to ICC CEO Geoff Allardice on Monday regarding the visa delay and said that the team’s preparation for the 50-over showpiece had been negatively hampered by the nervous wait. The PCB received the ICC’s confirmation on Tuesday.

Prior to their anticipated arrival in Hyderabad on September 27, Pakistan was meant to spend two days in Dubai bonding as a team; however, this was postponed due to the uncertainty surrounding Indian visas.

Starting with the exhibition match against New Zealand, the Babar Azam-led team plays two warm-up games and as many World Cup matches in Hyderabad.
The PCB asserted in the letter to Allardice that it has been more than three years since anything has been done to resolve its concerns over the issuance of visas to players, team officials, spectators, and journalists for the World Cup in India. It also stated that treating Pakistan unfairly would not be tolerated.

Farooq reiterated his worries, saying: “There have been incredibly long delays in acquiring approval and obtaining Indian visas for the Pakistani team for the ICC World Cup.

“We have written to the ICC to express our concerns on the unfair treatment of Pakistan and to remind them of their commitments with regard to the World Cup. It is disappointing that the Pakistani team has deal with the unpredictability before the important competition.

“We have been reminding them of their responsibilities for the past three years, and now it’s down to the final two days with our first warm-up game slated for September 29. Our initial intention to host a team-building activity in Dubai while traveling to India had to be scrapped. We have to alter our itinerary and make new reservations, but these arrangements are contingent upon the issue of visas, the man explained.

For the T20 World Cup in 2016, Pakistan last traveled to India. Due to the poor relations between the two nations, the archrivals only face off in the Asia Cup and ICC competitions.

Since the trip to Dubai has been canceled, 35 or so members’ airline reservations have been changed, according to PCB sources. The crew will now depart from Lahore for Hyderabad in the early morning of September 27 and arrive in Hyderabad via Dubai in the late evening.

The warm-up game is coming up in fewer than four days, and players are uncertain. One can only speculate as to what will happen to fan and journalist visa applications if the players are having to endure delays, according to a source.

Three ministries—home, external affairs, and sports—need to approve visa requests from Pakistan.

On October 3, also in Hyderabad, Pakistan will play their second exhibition match against Australia.
After playing their opening two World Cup matches against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka on October 6 and 10, respectively, they will stay in the city before traveling to Ahmedabad for the crucial match against the Indian hosts on October 14.
Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Agha are the only two players on the current Pakistani cricket team who have visited India.
