HT analysis of the 12th Failed

Vikrant Massey’s outstanding performance in the movie 12th Fail was reviewed by HT. Massey’s performance was exceptional and undoubtedly the best of his career thus far, according to the text. He gives his character multiple nuances at every turn. He doesn’t understand that cheating is wrong until he is a teenager in the classroom. He is an ardent UPSC student who sleeps three hours a night to make sure he has enough time for studies and menial tasks necessary for existence. There is no room for criticism because Massey perfectly inhabits Manoj’s role in every way that one could anticipate.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Vikrant discussed the movie, saying, “It’s not just about Hindi language; it’s about struggles associated with beginning over. It’s a popular belief that those who struggle academically will also struggle in other areas of their lives. It’s not something I agree with. A better life is possible via education, but success is more than just doing well in school. Even after a setback, you can try again and realize your dream.

In an announcement, Vidhu Vinod Chopra discussed the movie, saying, “I wanted to tell a story of hope and never giving up in these modern times.” All of it and more is what 12th Fail is. The process of making this movie brought me to tears, laughter, and joy. When this movie opens in theaters, I genuinely think it will strike a chord with everyone.

Earning Rs 1 crore, the film starring Vinod Chopra and Vikrant Massey comes as a surprise.

Day 1 box office receipts for 12th Fail: Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s new movie has come as a surprise, despite everyone’s expectation that Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas would comfortably grab the lead this Friday.

Friday saw the theatrical debut of Tejas, an aerial action film starring Kangana Ranaut, and the inspirational drama 12th Fail, which starred Vikrant Massey as an IPS candidate. While it was anticipated that 12th Fail would be easily defeated by the more well-known Tejas, there isn’t much of a difference either way.

Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that 12th Fail, helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, made Rs 1 crore on its first day of sales. In the market that speaks Hindi, 12th Fail achieved an overall occupancy rate of 9.09%. Comparatively, Tejas starring Kangana made Rs 1.25 crore on Friday and had a lower occupancy rate than the Vikrant Massey film, coming in at barely Rs 25 lakh ahead.

Pinkvilla said that by 10 p.m. on Friday, the two national chains, PVR and Cinepolis, had made collections of Rs 75 lakh. With just a handful of showings, 12th Fail has disproved the notion that the only thing drawing people to movie theaters these days is grandiose spectacles. Tejas had a considerably larger release than this movie, with only 600 screens showing it.

Drawing from the experiences of millions of students who take the UPSC entrance exam, the movie is based on Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel of the same name. Despite failing his twelfth board exam, the movie’s protagonist Manoj (Massey) never gives up. He recommences his studies and shows up for the UPSC, the most difficult competitive test.
